以三元乙丙橡胶(EPDM)为基体,用海泡石协效三氧化二锑制备阻燃EPDM复合材料,考察了海泡石用量对其力学性能和阻燃性能的影响。结果表明,随着海泡石用量的增加,EPDM复合材料的拉伸强度从未加入时的7.6 MPa提高到填充30份(质量)时的9.8 MPa,撕裂强度从36.1 N/mm提高到46.1 N/mm,力学性能得到明显改善;EPDM复合材料的极限氧指数从28.4%提高到31.1%。加入海泡石可明显降低EPDM复合材料燃烧时的最大热释放速率、总热释放量及总产烟量,减小潜在的火灾危害性,减少了燃烧过程中有害气体的释放,具有良好的阻燃效果。
Abstract:
Using ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) as matrix, sepiolite was used to synergistically prepare flame-retardant EPDM composites with antimony trioxide. The effects of sepiolite amount on mechanical properties and flame retardant properties of EPDM composites were investigated. The results showed that with the increase of sepiolite amount, tensile strength of EPDM composites increased from 7.6 MPa when not added to 9.8 MPa when added with 30 phr (by mass), and tear strength increased from 36.1 N/mm to 46.1 N/mm, with significant improvements in mechanical properties. Limiting oxygen index of EPDM composites increased from 28.4% to 31.1%. Adding sepiolite could reduce significantly the maximum heat release rate, total heat release, and total smoke release during combustion of EPDM composites, reducing potential fire hazards and release of harmful gases during combustion, resulting in good flame retardant effects.
